PORTRAIT SESSIONS WITH YOUR LOVED ONES UNDER AFRICAN SKY
A portrait session where we join you in the bush for a private session. Whether it is a couple lost in love or a big family gathering, we can help you to capture memories that last forever. It is not everyday that you can spend quality uninterrupted time together under the setting of the African sun.
There are occasions when its would be best that we bring in location studio lights to a very scenic location in the bush and having a full on outdoor studio session. These can be subtle and contemporary. Or full on avant garde shoot with props and additional people, to create a surreal scene from “old Africa” or something truly unique. We capture any special occasions from Anniversaries, Honeymoons, Engagements, Elopements, to formal Wedding and Family or Couple Portraits.
SPECIAL MEMORIES SHOULD LAST FOREVER
THERE ARE A FEW OPTIONS TO CHOOSE FROM WHEN CONSIDERING A PORTRAIT SESSION ON YOUR SAFARI
The “mini shoot” is an option where we would join you for a 45min to 1 hour photo session between breakfast and high-tea. There might be additional time needed for transport to and from the location, so please keep that in mind.
The “sunset shoot” will take place during your afternoon drive. During your 3-hour game drive we will choose a special sundowner location to do the photoshoot. If we are not busy with the shoot, we will join you on the drive and capture any of the wildlife we encounter. It is essential that you have a private vehicle booked for this shoot.
The “Dusk-to-Dawn” option includes the Sunset option plus a special evening shoot after dinner, or a morning shoot if you prefer.

SAFARI WEDDINGS
Just being on safari is an event on its own and adding a wedding just makes it limitless in the possibilities and surprises that an African Day can throw at a bridal couple. Being able to adapt and being spontaneous is critical to the success of a safari wedding photographer. We know this and our wedding photographers are flexible and creative to capture specific details and the emotions of such a special day.
With a style strongly biased towards the African wildlife and creative safari experience we candidly capture a wedding day from behind the scenes. Although as professionals we will certainly offer a little direction. But we believe composition and lighting goes a long way to get that brilliant cover shot that will make your wedding photos stand out. Not forgetting the shot between the shots that deliver a personal touch, that “unposed” second when you’re completely unaware of the photographer as you lose yourself in the eyes of your brand new spouse… that is priceless.
FOR SAFARI WEDDINGS, PLEASE CONTACT US WITH YOUR PLANS FOR YOUR SPECIAL DAY AND WE WILL BE HAPPY TO QUOTE YOU ACCORDINGLY.
FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS
When is the best time to take photographs?
The best time to have a couples or family shoot is during the golden hour, which is around sunset or sunrise.
How does the timing work?
The photographer will arrive at the lodge at High tea to meet you and the ranger that will be taking you on the drive.
The photographer will join you for the game drive where the game ranger and photographer will decide on the best place to have the shoot. The photographer will capture any images of the wildlife that you see.
Roughly an hour before sunset the ranger will stop at the right place to have a drink and snacks and for you to have the shoot. The shoot will be roughly an hour and a half. We then finish the game drive and head back to the lodge.
One of our options includes a night shoot at the lodge. The photographer will remain at the lodge. After dinner the photographer will have another shoot with you at the lodge and hopefully the stars will be out!
Do we need to book a private game vehicle?
Yes, you will need to organise your own private vehicle with the lodge directly. We are not responsible for organising a vehicle for you. If this is not possible, we suggest you opt for the mini shoot that can be done between breakfast and high tea.
Do you need accommodation?
Usually no, but it depends on what type of shoot that you would like.
If you look at our timing FAQ, once you head back to the lodge the photographer will leave. Therefore no accommodation will be necessary. If you would like a night shoot then accommodation will be needed. Your travel agent will be in contact with us and the lodge to organise the accommodation.
How many images will I receive?
It is always tough to promise a certain amount of images that you will receive. We focus on quality over quantity. We always aim to give you a minimum of 50 images.
How long until I receive my images?
As we focus on quality over quantity, we also focus on each and every image. We take the time to edit each and every image. We create a story with our images that will take you back to your incredible stay.
How do I receive the images?
We upload all of the images to an online gallery for you to download and share as you please. The images will remain in the gallery for one month for you to download.
